San Diego Dog Training and Dog Behaviorist

Where structure, boundaries, and containment beget freedom, play, and joy.

  • Cutting edge, neuroscience backed training method - working on the level of the nervous system

  • Balanced training philosophy - both positive and negative reinforcement

  • Heritage informed training - accounting for a dog breed’s natural drive and inclination

Q: What kind of experience do you have?

A: I am open to all training inquiries except for cases where the dog has a history of human aggression.

I often work with the following cases:

  • reactive barking and lunging on walks and at home

  • extreme separation anxiety from owner

  • eradicating localized fear and anxiety (fear of elevator, escalators, car, etc.)

  • potty training older, less mobile dogs (or dogs with less mobile owners) to potty in a litter box

Testimonials

“Eden Harmony is a SUPERLATIVE dog trainer!  I recommend her without reservation to anyone seeking dog training or dog walking assistance with a beloved pet.

My mother recently moved into assisted living where she lives on the second floor – requiring the use of an elevator.  She has an older (9 years old) Cairn Terrier, “Lili”, who has had little to no exposure to elevators and who refused to approach, much less, get on the elevator.  This was a major problem as my mother was 1) reluctant to enter assisted living, 2) has a bad back and bad knee and cannot lift the dog, and 3) because the dog is a non-negotiable in her life – no dog, no assisted living.  And my mother really needs assisted living.

Enter Eden who calmly and professionally assessed the situation.  She came daily, punctually and was always gentle and kind with both Lili and my mother – neither of whom were happy with this new living arrangement.

At every turn, Eden proved her professionalism, her expertise, her ability and willingness to listen and her credible and commendable dog training skills.  An honorable mention to Baowie, her lovely and talented service dog who provided companionship and confidence to an older, reluctant and often frightened dog.

We feel extremely fortunate and grateful for Eden and Baowie’s valuable contribution.  She solved a major problem with quiet confidence, professionalism, knowledge and expertise.  I cannot recommend her highly enough!!”

“Our experience with Eden has been amazing - she has really been a lifesaver. She was able to train our dog out of a problem that our whole family had no hope for.

My elderly mother had to move into an assisted living facility and wanted to bring her dog. However, due to many years of her dog living with my more or less bed bound mother, the dog had lost all its potty training and was habitually relieving herself anywhere and everywhere indoors. The assisted living facility would not allow this and evicted the dog, and my mother was threatening to leave as well.

Suffice to say it was a very difficult and stressful time for all of us. Thankfully, we were recommended the services of Eden and she understood the urgency of the situation and was able to immediately take the dog for a board and train.

Eden kept us updated every day with photos and notes, and explanations behind all her different training methods. We could tell our dog was giving her a hard time but Eden never gave up, even when there were setbacks to the training. She was positive but realistic, and we appreciated the transparency.

To our amazement, my mother’s dog was trained out her habit of pottying indoors and now goes on a litter box inside. This is an older dog - 7 years old - and very stubborn! My mother is able to stay at the facility with her dog now and I cannot thank Eden enough for her hard work. We joked with Eden that our lifetime’s experience with dogs was probably greater than the time she has spent alive (and it is!) yet we still couldn’t fix the issue. Eden is the real deal and I highly recommend her.”
